close展とは・・・・。

コロナ禍である現在、お店や街が「close」をしている中、私たち、そして世間は何を考えていたのか。また、どうしたら活気が取り戻せるのか。そんなことを映像表現、アートを通じて表現していく展示それが「close展」です。

2020年世界は未だかつて経験したことのない事件を経験した。そう、それは新型コロナウイルス感染症による緊急事態宣言。世界中の人々がマスクが必要な世の中になり、また「ソーシャルディスタンス」や「密」などといった言葉が認知、意識されるようになり、世間の温度感は緊張が走った。街中はロックダウン。緊急事態宣言中は外出の自粛を要請され、外に出ることがあまり叶わない現実。飲食店や商業施設にも大きな影響を及ぼした。東京都をはじめとする各都道府県、政府の営業時間自粛要請である。営業時間は８時までとなり、中には休業を要請された商業施設も存在。ライブハウス、映画館、飲食店、クラブハウスや世間の人々は暗い「閉ざされた世界」で生活しなければならなかった。自分達の入学式も中止になり、当時大学１年だったが、楽しみにしていたはずの授業も全てオンライン化されることとなった。

Business hours were closed until 8:00 p.m., and some commercial establishments were asked to close. Live music venues, movie theaters, restaurants, clubhouses, and the public had to live in a dark “closed world. Even their own entrance ceremonies were canceled, and all the classes that I was supposed to be looking forward to, although I was a freshman in college at the time, had to be put online.

そんな経験を今回の展示では「close」として表現。
